Digital Export Bonus Plus for small manufacturing companies (ATECO code C)

Until April 12, 2024, all Italian companies in the manufacturing sector with fewer than 50 employees and annual turnover not exceeding €10 million can apply for a BONUS to support the export of their “Made in Italy” products abroad through digital marketing and eCommerce initiatives.

The Bonus is managed by Invitalia and promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation together with the ICE Agency.

What should you know? 

The grant is provided under the “de minimis” regime with the following amounts: 

  • €10,000 for companies, for eligible expenses not lower than €12,500 excluding VAT; 
  • €22,500 for networks and consortia, for eligible expenses not lower than €25,000 excluding VAT. 

Eligible expenses include:

E-commerce systems and related services (e.g. smart payment).

Communication strategies, information and promotion for the digital export channel.

CMS services and website restyling.

Subscription and/or licensing to SaaS platforms.

Digital marketing aimed at developing internationalization activities (including SEO, SEM, strengthening on social channels, lead generation and lead nurturing activities).

Consulting services for the development of organizational processes and human capital aimed at increasing presence in foreign markets.

Upgrade of hardware equipment.

What are the requirements? 

  • Be a small manufacturing company (also in the form of networks or consortia) with ATECO code C.
  • Have a registered or operational office in Italy and be compliant with tax obligations.
  • Have fewer than 50 employees and turnover not exceeding €10 million.
  • Possess a digital identity (primarily SPID), digital signature, and a certified email address (PEC).

Grant information

  • The grant is provided in a single installment following the reporting of expenses incurred with supplier companies registered in the list of digital export solution providers established pursuant to General Director Authorization no. 20/21.
  • Only electronic invoices issued after the submission of the grant application by suppliers included in the official list are eligible.
  • No grant will be provided for eligible expenses lower than €12,500 for SMEs and €25,000 for networks or consortia.
